As part of the health and development Strategic Program, the Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism asked the RAND Corporation to create a roadmap to guide the development of health information technology (IT) in the public health system in Chile. This project had two phases. For the first phase of this project, we described the current health IT environment in Chile and identified the key opportunities and challenges associated with the growth of the sector. For the second phase, we designed a roadmap that focuses on key objectives and activities designed to encourage growth in adoption and successful implementation of health IT in the public sector in Chile.
